20Mb SQL Server Database included!
The monthly rental of a 20Mb SQL Server database is included in the cost of your Virtual Domain, and we only charge a set-up fee per database. What's more, the 20Mb standard database refers to "useable" data storage and does not include your SQL logs - a further 10Mb is given over to these for which there is no charge. To order your SQL Server database you need to first order a Virtual Domain, you will find a link on the control panel of your Virtual Domain to a special SQL Server Database order form.
If your application requires more than a 20Mb database, or you are using the same database for more than one domain within your Virtual Domain and need more space, you can rent extra space on the SQL Server server for a small monthly fee.
To create and manage tables within your SQL Server database you can either write SQL table creation and administration scripts using Transact SQL to run via Active Server Pages within your web site or connect to your database remotely using Microsoft Visual Interdev's Database Project feature. Part of the setup of your database includes a new sub-domain for your domain name such as sql.mydomain.co.uk making it easy for you to create a remote DSN from your local workstation.
